HOUSTON — Congressman Troy Nehls made a big announcement Saturday . He will not seek reelection next year and is endorsing his twin brother, Trever, to run for his seat. Troy Nehls represents a large section of Fort Bend County along with Brazoria, Harris, Wharton, and Matagorda counties.
Multiple Republicans and even some Democrats have signaled that they would retire at the end of their current terms. A political expert we spoke with believes it signals possible changes in Congress.
Nehls is a longtime Fort Bend County Republican in his third term in Congress,
"He's made the decision not to seek a fourth term, and had he sought one, he was a lock to win it," Rice political analyst Mark Jones said.
