ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions have played two games in the past week, with the overtime win against the New York Giants last Sunday feeling like a distant memory.

The NFL hasn’t forgotten, though, fining three Lions players for their actions in Week 12.

Lions defensive back Brian Branch was fined $23,186 for a hit on a defenseless player. The play in question happened with 1:49 left in the first quarter last Sunday. Branch was also hit with a 15-yard penalty on the second-and-8 hit on Wan’Dale Robinson. The Giants wide receiver took the hit from Branch while making the catch, and the yellow markers came out pretty quickly. Of the team’s three fined players from last Sunday, Branch was the only one called for a penalty during the action.
