Astros' Framber Valdez linked to Mets in MLB free agency
With the obvious need for pitching for the New York Mets , there’s a very good chance it could impact the Houston Astros .
When predicting what that might mean, Jackson Roberts of Sports Illustrated projected that Framber Valdez would sign with the Mets on a deal a bit higher than most initially expected. He had him landing a five-year, $175 million contract.
“Had he not drawn unwanted attention to himself for the cross-up incident with catcher César Salazar in August, Valdez might be looking at a deal of a similar magnitude to Cease's. But even if we ignore that incident, the fact that Valdez just turned 32 could limit the years on his next contract.
