Lake Area Technical College will send three teams to the NJCAA National Esports Tournament next month after finishing in the top three in regional competition.
The teams will compete in Street Fighter Six, Rainbow Six Siege and Call of Duty: Warzone, according to a community announcement. The Call of Duty team claimed the college’s first-ever regional championship, according to a release.
Head esports coach Bryce LeBlanc called qualifying three teams a major accomplishment for the young program, the release stated.
“I could not be prouder of these student athletes,” LeBlanc said in a release. “They have put in the work, balanced demanding schedules and set high expectations for our program. It’s a real testament to our program’s growth in both numbers and skills.”
