HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Four Houston firefighters are in the hospital after Engine 104 was hit by an 18-wheeler early Sunday morning, according to the Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association.
The union shared the update Sunday morning, writing:
“We are asking for prayers for our Four (4) injured firefighters. Engine 104 was involved in a serious accident last night involving an 18-wheeler.”
According to the union’s social post, the crash happened in Kingwood. The collision happened around 3:36 a.m. along the Eastex Freeway near the Northpark entrance ramp in the southbound lanes.
Fire officials: Firefighters were blocking traffic when the crash happened
Houston Fire Station 68 said the injuries are serious and shared additional information about what led up to the collision.
