STOCKTON, Calif. -- Three children are among the four people shot and killed in a mass shooting at a California child's birthday party , officials said Sunday. 11 others, including a 9 year old, are injured.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office says the shooting happened around 6 p.m. inside a strip mall shopping center in Stockton, California.

Officials announced on Sunday the ages of those killed are 8, 9, 14 and 21 years old.

At least one of the injured is a 9 year old and in fair condition, according to Dignity Health St. Joseph Medical Center. In a statement, hospital officials said:
