CHARLOTTE, N.C. – With two receiving touchdowns against the Panthers in Week 13, Rams wide receiver Davante Adams now holds sole possession of seventh all-time in receiving touchdowns (117), passing former Chargers tight end Antonio Gates.
It took less than 20 game minutes for Adams to find the end zone twice against Carolina. The play that put Adams ahead of Gates saw quarterback Matthew Stafford escape the pocket and find Adams off schedule in the back of the end zone, where he hit the "griddy" dance in celebration. The extra point tied the game at 14 early in the second quarter.
Adams' 14 receiving touchdowns lead the NFL this season, and 11 have come in the past six games.
