COLUMBUS, Ohio — Dust off the pointe shoes and the tutus, BalletMet’s "The Nutcracker" is about to return to the Ohio Theatre.

The holiday classic opens Thursday, Dec. 11, bringing its signature magic, music and tradition back to downtown Columbus.

The story unfolds with a single, unforgettable gift: a Nutcracker that sends audiences on a whimsical journey through dreamlike worlds.

BalletMet Artistic Director, Remi Wörtmeyer, shared what’s new in this year’s production and why "The Nutcracker" remains such a beloved tradition across central Ohio.

This year, there are themed nights, like Christmas sweater night, and more activities and photo opportunities for families to take part in before the curtain opens. Try arriving an hour before the show to get the full experience.
