Rex Ryan has been publicly critical of Shedeur Sanders in the past.

Earlier this month, Ryan tore into Shedeur Sanders on ESPN following the rookie’s regular-season NFL debut. The fifth-round pick threw for 47 yards and an interception on 4-of-16 passing after coming into the game due to Dillon Gabriel being hurt.

A clearly dejected Shedeur was shown sitting by himself on the Browns bench, which led to Ryan saying, “He’s there by himself on the bench. I’ve never seen that,” Ryan declared. “I’ve seen it in the seventh game of the World Series when you lose the game or whatever. This is a game that’s a pillow-fight game. Nobody cares. Did he care, or are you trying to make it a show and make it about yourself?”
