WASHINGTON — Sen. Cory Booker and Alexis Lewis are officially married.
Booker and Lewis, a director at real estate investment firm Brasa Capital Management, tied the knot during two ceremonies held five days apart, each in a place significant to their relationship.
The first took place Monday, Nov. 24, at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in Newark, a city central to Booker’s political career. According to the New York Times, the pair exchanged vows with their parents present as witnesses.
A second celebration followed on Saturday, Nov. 29, in Washington, D.C., Lewis’ hometown, where the couple gathered again with loved ones.
Booker and Lewis announced the news of their wedding Sunday, sharing matching Instagram posts featuring photos from both ceremonies.
