DETROIT – Welcome to the Michigan High School Athletic Association record books, Traverse Moore.

The senior quarterback and Central Michigan commit put on a record-breaking performance on Sunday, tallying 32 carries for 397 yards and five total touchdowns (four rushing) as DeWitt (14-0) defeated Mount Pleasant (13-1) 54-20 in the MHSAA Division 3 state finals at Ford Field.

“I couldn’t be more proud of this group,” DeWitt head coach Rob Zimmerman said. “They used that (semifinals) loss (last season) as motivation and looked back on the things we did to not win that game.”

Moore’s 397 rushing yards broke the previous record of 314 from Jackson Lumen Christi’s Kadale Williams in 2024. He also finished tied for first in state finals history with three touchdowns in one quarter, and second
