LANCASTER, S.C. — A shooting in Lancaster left a woman dead on Saturday.
The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Palmetto Place Apartments on Pardue Street, according to the Lancaster Police Department. Officers found an 18-year-old woman with gunshot wounds at the scene, where she was pronounced dead.
The victim's name was not released.
No arrests have been made at this time, according to police. The investigation is underway.
“Violence of this nature is unacceptable in our community," Lancaster police chief Don Roper said in a statement. "We are dedicated to investigating this incident thoroughly and will pursue justice for the victim and her family."
