MEMPHIS, Tenn. — University of Memphis head football coach Ryan Silverfield is reportedly leaving Memphis and heading to Arkansas.

According to sources with ESPN, the Arkansas Razorbacks have hired Silverfield as the new head coach.

University of Memphis Athletic Director Ed Scott confirmed the reports on Sunday.

“We thank Coach Silverfield for his leadership over the past six seasons and wish him and his family the best in their next chapter," Scott said in a statement.

Scott announced that Reggie Howard will serve as the interim head coach while the U of M undergoes a search to replace Silverfield.
