OKLAHOMA CITY — A school bus driver in Oklahoma City knits beanies for students to spread love and warmth.
Tina Hutcherson, 63, drives in the Putnam City School District and says she makes the hats to ensure no one goes without.
She told KAKE it takes between 30 and 45 minutes per hat after her daughter gifted her a new knitting machine, so she had the idea to make a stock of beanies for students.
"I was like, 'Oh Lord, I gotta make all my babies some hats on the bus now,'" Hutcherson told ABC News.
Though she has them in abundance, enough to fill up a large portion of the school bus's dashboard, she doesn't make them to sell to students.
"I just want to knit for people, to see the smile on their face when they get it," she told KOCO .
