Student assessment results for Manchester’s public schools are out, showing the dropout rate has fallen, the four and five year graduation rate has increased, and 78% of public high school students in the city are demonstrating college and career readiness — up from 30% in 2019.
The bad news? The New Hampshire Statewide Assessment System (NH SAS) data — collected from students across the Manchester School District (MSD) last spring — show scores were below state English language arts averages in each participating grade.
For math, city students tested even lower, with scores less than half of the state average in every grade assessed.
“Obviously, there’s some good things in here, and there’s some things that aren’t so good in here,” said at-large school board member Peter Argeropoulos.
