Mets pitcher leaving MLB to sign contract in Japan's NPB

The New York Mets didn't appear too interested in bringing back Jose Castillo for next season.

Castillo has taken that decision out of their hands.

The left-handed pitcher is leaving MLB to sign in Japan's NPB with the Chiba Lotte Marines.

The Mets non-tendered Castillo earlier in November.

Castillo had a wild 2025 and is looking for a bit of stability.

In 2025, he pitched for the Arizona Diamondbacks , the Seattle Mariners , the Baltimore Orioles and the Mets.

Castillo did do a solid job. He had a 3.94 ERA in 32 innings pitched.

Amazingly, Castillo was with the Mets on three different occasions.
