A new shop serving hand-crafted hot chocolate is preparing to open in the centre of Cheltenham.

Branding for Knoops has now appeared on the former Costa Coffee shop at 24 Promenade, which closed back in 2022 after 14 years of trading.

The prominent Prom building was a pub before Costa, so it will have moved from serving booze, to coffee to chocolate drinks.

A planning application had been put in earlier this year to Cheltenham Borough Council seeking permission to open a Knoops, a chain that began in Rye, East Sussex, in 2013.

And with the go-ahead given, work has been taking place to bring the new concept to the town.
