OWENSBORO, KY. (WFIE) - It was an exciting Friday night, for both the Owensboro and Owensboro Catholic football programs, as they both won their state semifinal games!
First off, let’s talk Owensboro. The Red Devils won the class 5A semifinal, 49-6, over Woodford County. They had a running clock by halftime, as they ran circles around the Yellowjackets.
Senior tailback Evan Hampton had another massive game, rushing for 266 yards and 3 touchdowns, and also added 51 yards receiving with another TD. DaMarcus Ganaway was almost perfect thru the air too, going 6 for 7, for 176 yards and 3 tuddys.
Now, they’re set to make their first trip to state, since 2020, where they’ll take on Pulaski County, on Saturday, December 6, at 7:00 CST, at Kroger Field, in Lexington.
