Two workers were badly hurt at a Motherwell depot when an overhead crane crashed into equipment they were using. The men, who'd been with their company for just three weeks, were replacing overhead lights when they were knocked to the ground.

Hamilton Sheriff Court heard that Kian King, then aged 22, suffered a fractured skull, three fractures to his pelvis and other injuries. Work colleague Ryan Hardy, then 27, had multiple cuts and a knee injury.

Transflow (Scotland) Limited admitted failing to provide adequate training to its employees at the depot in Flemington Industrial Park, Craigneuk Street. The accident happened on December 12, 2022.
