Hundreds of West Lothian shoppers lined up in the early hours of Saturday morning as a new store opened its doors. Miniso opened in The Centre in Livingston on November 29.

The occasion was marked with a ribbon cutting at midday, live music and a visit from the brand's mascot PenPen. The first 200 shoppers through the door, who spent £5, also received a goody bag worth £25.

The Chinese brand is known for colourful and trendy lifestyle products. They feature characters from Hello Kitty, Harry Potter , Friends and more.

Mum Helen who was in the queue before 8am, said: “My daughters love everything about MINISO, including the soft toys and keyrings, so I thought I’d make their day and start queuing up early with them to get a first peek and the wait was well worth it!
