Alabama has 464 incorporated municipalities, which means a lot of potential Whovilles will soon be dressed in red, green, white and every twinkling shade in between.

Lights will shimmer across town squares throughout December, but only one community can claim the title of jolliest of them all for 2025.

Alabama Media Group is hosting its annual Christmas decoration contest, a statewide tournament divided into three regions in which the public will choose the best Christmas display.

All cities with a holiday display are eligible as long as the decorations are mostly publicly funded, coordinated and overseen by their city’s government. Private venues are not eligible.

In other words, it is time to show your community pride. Santa is watching.
