A 56-year-old man was struck and killed on a highway in Auburn on Sunday, according to Auburn Police Chief Scott Mills.
Auburn police responded to the scene after receiving three 911 calls around 10 p.m. Sunday about a man being hit by a vehicle on Route 20 at Washington Street, near the Auburn-Worcester border, Mills told MassLive Monday.
Officers and Auburn Firefighters found the man deceased on the highway, the chief said. Mills did not reveal the man’s identity.
The police chief said the man lived in a mobile home nearby on 17 Washington St. and was not walking in a crosswalk when he was struck.
The driver, a woman, cooperated with police and the investigation.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by police and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, according to
