A man has been jailed after stubbing a cigarette out in a disabled man's eye in a vile attack captured on CCTV.
David Brown is seen attacking the man, who had just entered the beer garden of a Nottinghamshire pub on a mobility scooter. Other pubgoers were forced to pull the 40-year-old off the victim, who suffered significant injuries to his right eye. Nottingham Crown Court heard the victim has ongoing issues with his eyesight two years later that mean he needs regular hospital visits.
Police were called to the pub in South Street, Hucknall, on December 29, 2023, and Brown was arrested at the scene.
Brown denied a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent but was found guilty following a trial in October. He was sentenced to four and a half years in prison on Friday (November 28)
