CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The price of gas in the Palmetto State is dropping in step with national gas prices, marking early signs of holiday relief for motorists paying at the pump.
South Carolina gas prices dropped by 8.8 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging out at $2.62 heading into the first work week of the month.
That is 2.9 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 9.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
Throughout the state, the cheapest gas was selling for $2.09 per gallon Sunday while the most expensive was going for $3.49 per gallon.
In the Lowcountry, the BJ’s in Summerville, located at 1035 Jockey Court, had the cheapest gas price Monday morning, selling a gallon from $2.39.
