ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — FIFA is set to announce which teams will play in Atlanta during the 2026 World Cup when the organization holds its final draw Friday.
The draw for FIFA’s first 48-team World Cup is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 5. Atlanta will host eight matches when the tournament comes to the city this summer.
A draw party will be held Friday at 11 a.m. outside Fado Irish Pub in Buckhead. Additional schedule details will be announced on Dec. 9.
The expanded tournament format represents the largest World Cup in history, with 16 more teams than previous tournaments.
