Hamtramck cop's domestic violence charge dismissed

A domestic violence charge against a Hamtramck police officer accused of assaulting his wife has been dismissed.

Saeed Rizvee, 29, was charged with assaulting his wife in September and was suspended from the Hamtramck Police Department. The charge, misdemeanor domestic violence, was dismissed Nov. 18 after the victim refused to cooperate in the case, Macomb County Chief Deputy Assistant Prosecutor Robert Leonetti said. Leonetti said prosecutors could not proceed without her testimony.

Rizvee's attorney Ibrahim Barlaskar, did not respond for comment.

The case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning it can be reissued at a later point.
