KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A person of interest is in custody after a shooting in Kalamazoo on Sunday evening, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS).

Around 7:10 p.m., KDPS posted on Facebook about a non-fatal shooting in the 1200 block of Douglas.

Police said a person of interest is in custody and the shooting is under investigation, so the area will have an increased police presence.

It's unclear what led up to the shooting. Police did not release any information about the victim.
