MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - U.S. Marshal’s are still searching for a murder suspect who’s been on the run for 20 years.
Robert King has been wanted since December 1, 2005 for the murder of his then girlfriend Dorothy Smith and attempting to murder her 20-year-old daughter. Marshals say the murder happened in the bedroom of Dorothy’s home on Bradwood Street in Memphis. Her daughter Diana witnessed her mother’s throat being slashed, and then locked her self in her own bedroom.
In 2009, Action News 5 spoke with U.S. Marshals about the case. Then Deputy U.S. Marshal Brian Monson said after murdering Dorothy, King broke in the bedroom door and attacked Diana with a sharp object, cutting her neck and leaving her for dead.
