LANCASTER – A man shot to death in Lancaster over the weekend was identified by county authorities Monday.
The shooting was reported at 12:07 a.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of East Avenue J-4, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies dispatched to the scene located a man in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified by the county medical examiner as Jose Figueroa Jr., 22, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Figueroa’s place of residence was not disclosed.
“Investigators learned the victim was involved in an altercation when a suspect produced a firearm and shot the victim. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle eastbound through the complex,” according to the sheriff’s department.
