After being founded way back in February 1966, Steak and Ale witnessed its peak in the 1970s and ’80s, only to permanently shut its doors in 2008 due to Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
Now, 59 years later, Steak and Ale has plans on making a huge comeback.
The chain’s rejuvenation came by way of Paul Mangiamele of Legendary Restaurant Brands, as he purchased Steak and Ale, in addition to Bennigan’s, in 2015.
The Street reports that Mangiamele has always wanted to bring the chain back to life. And his wish came true in July.
