RICHMOND, Va. (WDBJ) - Governor Glenn Youngkin has ordered flags in Virginia to be lowered Tuesday in honor of a corrections officer who was killed in the line of duty .
Officer Jeremy Lewis Hall died in an attack at River North Corrections Center November 17. A memorial service is set for December 2.
Governor Youngkin’s order reads as follows:
In accordance with the authority vested in me as Governor, I hereby order that the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia in memory and respect of Virginia Department of Corrections Officer Jeremy Lewis Hall, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on November 17, 2025, during a violent attack by an inmate
