Police identified the person killed Friday in a Southeast Portland homicide as 75-year-old James S. Miller.

Police also said Miller died by blunt force trauma, although they initially said he died in a stabbing.

Miller is the 41st person killed in a Portland homicide so far in 2025, compared with 68 at this point last year.
