1PIKESVILLE, Md. – A 22-year-old man was killed early Monday morning in a collision along Reisterstown Road, just hours after celebrating his birthday.

Police say the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. near the Interstate 695 westbound exit ramp when a 2004 Toyota Corolla collided with a 2020 Lexus RX350 that was making a left turn.

Emergency responders pronounced the Toyota’s driver, Jefferson Mena-Rivas, dead at the scene.

Passenger critically injured in violent impact

An adult female passenger in the Toyota suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, according to Baltimore County Police. The driver of the Lexus was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
