SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Hy-Vee and Springfield area first responders are teaming up to provide 200 hams to families this holiday.

Starting at 4 p.m. on December 3, Hy-Vee employees and first responders will hand out 200 Hormel hams outside JCPenney at 1201 S. Dirksen Parkway in Springfield while supplies last.

Hams for the Holidays is a collaboration between Hy-Vee and Hormel Foods to deliver a total of 5,000 hams at 20 different locations across Hy-Vee's nine-state region. This is the 8th year for the program.

The event will go until 6 p.m. or until all of the hams are given away.
