Amarillo police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a double homicide reported early Sunday on the city’s northwest side.
Investigators with the Amarillo Police Department Homicide Unit identified Tavon Lin Ammons as the suspect in the Nov. 30 shooting in the 1600 block of NW 9th Avenue. The Potter County District Attorney’s Office issued two murder warrants, and officers later found Ammons hiding inside a home on the south side of Amarillo. APD said he was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
