A domestic abuse survivor has bravely spoken out just months after her former partner, a man from County Durham , was jailed. Nicky Gamble, 38, was jailed for 20 months in June, after being found guilty of engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour.

The court heard that he carried out a pattern of abusive and intimidating behaviour which caused the woman serious emotional and physical harm. He was also handed a restraining order preventing him from contacting the woman for seven years.
