A man was jailed for six years after sexually assaulting a teenage girl in a Telford car park.

Lee Ward, also known as Lee Thomas, persuaded his victim to follow him into a town centre car park on February 4, 2023, when she was walking alone.

The 42-year-old, of no fixed abode, led the 16-year-old girl into a stairwell when he produced a blanket and carried out the assault.

After pleading with Ward to stop, the victim left visibly distressed and later reported the incident.

Ward was arrested later that month on February 20, 2023, while he was busking outside Asda in the town
