Airbus says it has already fixed “the vast majority” of the planes affected by a potentially serious flight control issue.
In a release issued early Monday morning from Toulouse, France, the company said: “Out of a total number of around 6,000 aircraft potentially impacted, the vast majority have now received the necessary modifications. We are working with our airline customers to support the modification of less than 100 remaining aircraft to ensure they can be returned to service.”
The company had issued an alert on Nov. 28 saying that some aircraft in its highly popular A320 family were susceptible to a situation in which “intense solar radiation may corrupt data critical to the functioning of flight controls.” A320 family jetliners are assembled in Toulouse; Mobile; Hamburg, German
