DEKALB COUNTY, Ill. — A man who drove into a ditch was ordered to appear in court after police identified him at the scene.
Just before 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office was called to the intersection of Perry Road and Somonauk Road in rural DeKalb County for a report of a driver in a ditch.
When deputies arrived, they identified the driver as 21-year-old Artes Strong of Richton Park.
Deputies learned that Strong had an arrest warrant out of DeKalb County for shoplifting.
Strong was released on recognizance , meaning he was granted release in exchange for promising that he will appear in court.
Strong will be in court on Dec. 16 at 9 a.m.
