MADISON (WKOW) — Heavy snowfall made travel difficult across southern Wisconsin over the weekend, resulting in dozens of crashes and vehicles sliding off roadways.
During the snowstorm, the Grant County Sheriff's Office said it responded to 26 vehicles that slid off the road. Seven were crashes with property damage, and one crash with injuries reported.
In Iowa County, Sheriff Michael Peterson said many residents heeded the warnings from officials and stayed home during the storm.
Peterson reported a total of 25 crashes from the weekend. Two crashes had minor injuries.
One crash on Highway 18 and Berg Road resulted in two serious injuries and one critical injury. That crash was reported at 9:19 a.m. around the beginning of the storm.
