MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — When the holiday season rolls around, Albert Compoly puts up this Christmas display in his yard on Lower Lakeview Drive in Middle Smithfield Township.
The signs invite people to pull over and take one of the jars off the shelves. Compoly says this is his way of getting others to help spread some holiday cheer.
"It was actually started by a Christian author named Jason Wright, so he wrote a whole story, it's actually two books about the Christmas jars, so I took that concept and sort of made it into my own concept," said Compoly.
Since starting the Christmas jars 17 years ago, more than 1,800 have been picked up.
