Police are contemplating charges of corporate manslaughter as part of their investigation into the Post Office Horizon scandal, it was revealed today.
Approximately 13 individuals are thought to have taken their own lives due to the scandal, according to a distressing report from the Post Office inquiry released in July. Thousands more postmasters lost their jobs and savings after being falsely accused of theft from the Post Offices where they were employed.
One subpostmaster described this as an "important step towards justice" for those accountable to be held responsible.
