Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Maliek Collins will miss the remainder of the season with a quad injury, head coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Monday.
Collins sustained the injury and was carted off the field during the third quarter of the Browns' 26-8 setback to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
"Very disappointed for Maliek," Stefanski said on Monday. "He's obviously been playing such good football, and he provides leadership for this football team. So, disappointed for him but he will bounce back."
Collins, 30, recorded 2.5 of his career-high 6.5 sacks this season in Cleveland's 24-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 23.
He had 25 tackles and one fumble recovery in 12 games (all starts) this season.
Collins has totaled 264 tackles, 37 sacks and nine fumble recoverie
