PORTLAND, Ore. — More than 100 unionized "advanced practice providers" with Legacy Health went on strike Tuesday morning, picketing outside of multiple Legacy facilities in the Portland metro.
The strike includes nurse practitioners, physician associates and clinical nurse specialists, outside of Legacy Emanuel and Legacy Good Samaritan hospitals.
As of Tuesday morning, Dec. 2, the strike has no planned end date. Union representatives told KGW that it will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week.
The Oregon Nurses Association , which represents the group, said it's been trying to negotiate a contract with Legacy Health for nearly two years. Legacy Health said that it has already offered a 10% pay increase and will continue to bargain in good faith.
