WASHINGTON, D.C. (LOOTPRESS) – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito and Jim Justice on Tuesday introduced a resolution honoring two West Virginia National Guard members who were shot while serving in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 26.

U.S. Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom and U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe were targeted and shot in the line of duty, according to the senators. Beckstrom died from her injuries on Thanksgiving Day. Wolfe remains in critical condition.

Capito said the two service members “embody the dedication, courage, and strength that define our West Virginia National Guard,” adding that the Senate resolution shows the nation “stands with Sarah, Andrew, and their families.”
