Lane Kiffin reportedly gave his staff an ultimatum when taking over as the new head coach of the LSU Tigers over the weekend: Either join him now and get on the plane to Baton Rouge, or forever hold your peace.

Ole Miss Rebels offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. was one of the few coaches to board the plane with Kiffin, but it appears that he will be going back to Starkville to return to the team for the remainder of the season, coaching the offense throughout the playoffs.

Weis Jr. will join new head coach and former defensive coordinator Pete Golding, who was hired to replace Kiffin after the departure over the weekend.

Kiffin released a statement on this matter on Tuesday afternoon, saying that his staff was allowing Weis Jr. to finish out the season with Ole Miss before joining the LSU staff in order to benefit the Rebels' players and help them finish out the most historic season in program history.

The expectation is that Weis Jr. will return to Baton Rouge and take over as the OC of the Tigers once the season concludes for Ole Miss.
