PITTSBURGH — Former Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen appears to have found his new team.
One day after the Vikings released Thielen at the Minnesota native's request, ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Tom Pelissero are reporting that the Pittsburgh Steelers have claimed Thielen off waivers.
Thielen, a two-time Pro Bowl selection with the Vikings, made a celebrated return to Minnesota this past offseason after playing the past two seasons in Carolina. However, Thielen recorded just 8 receptions for 69 yards and no touchdowns in limited playing time during his Vikings return.
On Monday, the Vikings waived Thielen on his request to seek more playing time elsewhere in what will be his final NFL season.
