Darius Slay’s run with the Pittsburgh Steelers is over, with the team having cut the six-time Pro Bowler in a surprising move on Tuesday.
Slay was a healthy scratch for the Steelers in their Week 13 loss to the Buffalo Bills and will not be suiting up for them moving forward. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the parties have agreed to sever ties.
Schefter cited the player’s agents, who told him Slay still wants to play this season and will consider signing with other teams.
“Steelers and CB Darius Slay have mutually agreed to part ways, Slay’s agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey told ESPN,” Schefter wrote. “Slay is interested in continuing to play, and will consider signing with other teams. But his time in Pittsburgh has come to an end.”
