Police in Elk Grove say an 11-year-old boy died after a stabbing inside his home on Ferrell Way, and his father, former Sacramento County deputy Marvin Morales, is the suspect. The incident was reported after the children’s mother saw an assault on home cameras and called 911, police said. Morales fled before officers arrived, prompting a pursuit on Interstate 5 that ended with spike strips, a crash near Highway 12, and an officer-involved shooting. Officials confirmed Morales has died.
