Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) escalated her feud with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) over a provision she wants included in the chamber’s annual defense policy bill.
In a post on X Monday night, Stefanik criticized Johnson’s handling of the provision: “Republicans have the House, Senate, and the White House, yet the deep state is alive and well with the Speaker getting rolled by House Dems attempting to block my provision to require Congressional disclosure when the FBI opens counterintelligence investigations into presidential and federal candidates seeking office.”
Stefanik has pushed House members to pass legislation that would require the FBI to notify Congress when it opens investigations into candidates running for federal office.
A strong ally to President Donald Trump, Stef
